Up next at the Levitt: It’s a groove-infused Friday night headlined by The Peterson Brothers, a Texas-bred duo noted for their infectious energy and unique blend of jazz, funk, blues and soul, which has delighted audiences around the country for the better part of the last decade. The brothers’ story began when their grandmother brought home a turntable and a crate of albums from a garage sale, thus turning the boys on to the likes of The lsley Brothers, The Brothers Johnson, B.B. King, and Earth, Wind & Fire and the rest was history. Noteworthy artists The Petersons have opened for include: Gary Clark Jr,. Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jesse Johnson (The Time), Willie Nelson, B.B. King, New Power Generation (Prince's longtime band), and Buddy Guy.

Opening for The Peterson Brothers and returning to the Levitt for a second time this season is Igimèjí, an Arlington-based alt R&B band with a sound that ranges from “vibrant and sunny to cool and funky.”  The group released their first major work this past summer, an EP entitled “Two Trees” an earthy, yet sparkling approach to pop, R&B and rock and roll. In addition to the Levitt, Igimèjí has played at venues across DFW, as well as in Austin and New York City.
