H&M opens in Sundance Square

One of the world’s largest fashion retailers opens new four-level store on Commerce Street in downtown Fort Worth.

Shopping enthusiasts started lining up outside the new H&M store in Sundance Square at midnight the night before the April 7th grand opening. By mid-morning, more than 400 people were in line for the opportunity to benefit from the grand opening special offers. H&M showed their appreciation by putting on a show to entertain the shoppers in line. An hour before the noon opening, a DJ spun popular tunes while dozens of H&M staffers led a dance party on the downtown sidewalks. Promptly at noon the ribbon was cut and shoppers streamed into the store. The first 300 people received free H&M sunglasses and canvas shopping bags.

“The opening of H&M solidifies Sundance Square as one of the best shopping destinations in Dallas/Fort Worth,” said Sundance Square President and CEO Johnny Campbell. “H&M joins Loft, Overland and White House Black Market, as retailers who have moved into downtown Fort Worth recently because of the 10 million visitors who come to Sundance Square every year. We have been attracting national retailers at a faster rate than ever before.”

Located at the corner of Commerce Street and 3rd street between the AMC Palace Theater and The Cheesecake Factory, the new 31,000 square-foot store is the largest retailer in Sundance Square.

Inside, the four-level store features the latest in fashion-forward apparel for men, ladies and children, including separate “store within a store” sections for accessories, maternity and sports apparel, plus a children’s collection for newborn to 14 years.

H&M is one of the world’s largest fashion retailers. With the opening in Sundance Square, H&M added 30 more employees to its current total of 16,000 employees across 417 U.S. stores.  H&M has approximately 3,600 stores in 61 markets worldwide.

Sustainability is an integral part of the retail giant’s presence. In 2013, H&M was the first global fashion company to launch an in-store Garment Collecting Initiative, collecting more than 50 million pounds of garments to date. In celebration of H&M’s World Recycle Week, taking place April 18 – 24 at H&M in Sundance Square, customers can donate unwanted clothing thru April 24 and they will receive a voucher for 30% off their next purchase, valid thru April 27, 2106.

H&M in Sundance Square is located at 401 Commerce Street in downtown Fort Worth. Store Hours are Monday – Thursday 10 am – 8 pm; Friday and Saturday 10 am – 9 pm; and Sunday noon – 6 pm.

Sundance Square is a vibrant 35-block commercial, residential, entertainment and retail district where people work, live, shop and dine among beautiful landscaping, red-brick streets and turn-of-the-century buildings. More information about Sundance Square can be found at www.sundancesquare
