Their stories inspire hope, reduce stigma, and highlight the importance of access to critical recovery services.

Stars in Recovery also honors the enduring legacy of Clifton Morris and Jim Bradshawtwo respected community leaders whose personal commitment to sobriety and service helped shape the foundation of this event. Both devoted decades to supporting Recovery Resource Council and advancing substance use recovery in Fort Worth, serving faithfully on the Board of Directors and championing recovery in the community. Though they are no longer with us, their leadership, generosity, and belief in second chances continue to guide and inspire Stars in Recovery each year.

This year, we are honored to welcome Darryl Strawberry as our keynote speaker. A four-time World Series champion and Major League Baseball legend, Darryl has navigated a long and difficult journey through addiction and recovery. His struggles with substance use, health issues, and legal troublesincluding decades in the public eyeculminated in a full presidential pardon of past drug convictions in 2025. Today, as an ordained minister and motivational speaker, he shares a message of hope grounded in long-term sobriety, personal transformation, and the power of faith. His story is a powerful reminder that recovery is always possible.

The 2026 luncheon is made possible through the generous presenting sponsorship of G. L. HUNT Co. Inc. We are also grateful to former Fort Worth Police Chief Neil Noakes for serving as this years Honorary Chair, bringing a legacy of servant leadership and community dedication to the event.
