According to the National Hole-in-One Registry, the odds of the average golfer making a hole-in-one are 12,500 to 1. So, what are the odds that two golfers would make hole-in-ones on two North Texas golf courses within a day of each other during golf tournaments sponsored by Park Place Dealerships?
Sean Payne of Dallas was playing a round at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth when he sunk a hole-in-one with a five iron on 4th hole during the Colonial Cup October 13. Payne won a new Mercedes-Benz E350 sedan.
“Any golfer who hits a hole-in-one knows the joy of that accomplishment,” said George Johnson, General Manager of Park Place Motorcars Fort Worth. “To do that and to win a luxury car is just remarkable. We are celebrating with Mr. Payne on this fun adventure.”
Michael Schodrof was visiting North Texas when he won a Land Rover Defender for sinking an ace on the 17th hole during the Vaquero Campeon tournament at the Vaquero Golf Club in Westlake, Texas.
“Mr. Schodrof was invited to play in the tournament by one of his best friends who is a member at Vaquero,” said Park Place Jaguar - Land Rover DFW General Manager Matt Woolsey. “Mr. Schodrof flew to Texas for the tournament and hit the shot of a lifetime. He didn’t think it was going to be close, but the regulars at the course knew it could be good. The spotter on the green started jumping up and down and the others in the group all started hugging him and giving him high fives.”
According to Park Place Dealerships Experiential Marketing Director Kara Connor, Park Place sponsors more than a dozen golf tournaments each year. “In order to win a vehicle from Park Place, the golfer must hit a hole-in-one on a designated hole. I can’t ever recall a time when two golfers made hole-in-ones within a day of each other.”
